The principal of Modern Living Realty, Jolie Ilardi-De La Cruz, has been in the real estate industry in New York City for over 11 years.  Having graduated from Cornell University School of Arts and Sciences in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Law, and from Syracuse University College of Law in 2005 with a focus in Property Law, Jolie immediately pursued a career in real estate litigation, including landlord and tenant litigation, and various lease,  luxury deregulation, MCI rent increase, rent overcharges, and service complaint disputes.  She also engaged in real estate closings, which involved negotiations with title companies, bank disputes, and various contract disputes. Jolie worked for one of the most prestigious law firms in New York City real estate early in her career as an associate for several years, and then went on to work as In-House Counsel under General Counsel in a boutique real estate investment and operations firm.  After 11 years, Jolie made the bold decision to steer away from law and to learn and embrace the broker’s side of real estate.  With her extensive expertise and an in depth understanding of the real estate industry in New York, from both the legal perspective and the broker’s perspective, Jolie started this company from the ground up.  Modern Living Realty now maintains a portfolio featuring a charming home in the most exclusive neighborhood in Brooklyn – Mill Basin – and has several other homes in the Mill Basin neighborhood as well as in the Westchester County area coming to the market in the very near future.
